Does My Pet Need a CT Scan?
Computed Tomography (CT) allows us to visualize parts of the body that are difficult to evaluate using conventional radiographs alone, including the skull, spine, thorax and pelvis. CT scans provide very detailed, 3D images, allowing a quick and accurate diagnosis.
Some examples of when your pet may need a CT include the following:
- Brain lesions, such as tumors
- Chest & lung lesions
- Herniated discs
- Liver, spleen, kidney or other abdominal organ tumors
- Bone and joint disease such as elbow dysplasia or bone cancer
